Study: Improve Your Kid's Skills by Exposing Him to Skilled Peers

Can peer pressure be good for a pre-schooler? Definitely!
A study funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (US Department of Education) found that kids with lower language skills can improve if they are exposed to children who have the gift of gab.
While for parents this might make sense, the study is valuable because it challenges the way pre-school education is currently carried out. Usually lower-skilled kids are placed in a class, while higher-skilled kids are grouped together.
With the findings of the study, pre-schools may want to re-think how they group children in class to help “low-ability” students achieve much more.
As parents, you may also want to surround your kids with peers who are more advanced, so your child can pick up a thing or two. However, do return the favor by letting your child mingle with kids who need help with certain skills.
