Yoyo.com: Makes Online Shopping Easier for Parents
From the archive. This post was first published on the original Green Eggs and Moms blog and is kept here as it was.
Online toy shopping may be more convenient than strolling through malls but it still has its challenges. Luckily, new help has arrived.
Looking for a gift for your 3-year old princess while on a budget?
Visit popular online retailers and the standard search parameters available are: age, categories, gender or budget.
Let’s say you’re looking for an age-appropriate toy for your daughter. Filter the toys by age and… tada! You’re greeted by search results containing toys any 3 year old would love. But there’s a problem.
That’s the only filter you can apply. Which means you’re also shown items that are meant for boys, classified under different categories and brands, as well as varied price-ranges.
Enter Yoyo.com’s Toy Finder.
What is it?
It’s a new e-commerce website that gives parents a hand with the daunting and (sometimes) overwhelming task of gift buying.
What Are Its Features?
- Choose toys using the following parameters: age, gender and budget all at the same time. (See the screen shot above? What could be easier than that?)
- A (very) wide selection of 20,000 kiddie items – probably why they went for a highly targeted search feature, unless it’s your desire to eternally scroll through pages and pages of toys.
- Browse toys by one of the following: age, category, brand and character (ex: Elmo, Dora, Harry Potter, etc.)
- Sells books, costumes, CD & DVDs, and video games as well.
I visited the site and found it pretty awesome; it simplifies the online shopping process so parents can easily identify gifts for their little (or big) ones. If you want a better online shopping experience, you know where to go.
Oh, did I mention that Amazon acquired Yoyo.com? Well, now you know.
